Come 2 May 2012, MediaCorp Channel 8 will launch its first Facebook voting application online. This application will serve as a platform for increased interactivity with the online community. The application will launch with the voting for Star Awards 2013.
Fans can start voting for Channel 8 dramas that have already ended as of May 2012. This includes Double Bonus, Rescue 995, Unriddle 2 and Pillow Talk. Voting period for these four dramas will last a month, from 2 May 2012 (12:00) to 31 May 2012 (12:00).

Voting for subsequent dramas will begin on the telecast date and end a week after the show’s finale episode. (As this application launches a day after Absolutely Charming debuts, voting for Absolutely Charming will begin only on Day 2 of its telecast.)

Voting will consist of 3 phases- nomination, voting, and finally results. Each drama will be broken up into 3 main categories, namely Favorite Male Character, Favorite Female Character, and Favorite On-Screen Couple.

Last Sunday (29.4.12), all JOliiteers who attended Star Awards 2 at Marina Bay Sands Convention were rewarded with shocking results.
The whole show officially started at 7pm.

Joanne was nominated in “A Tale of 2 Cities” for Best Actress Category. When the presenters open the Results slip and they name the Winner  ”乐在双城 — 白薇秀”. All JOlliteers were totally in a daze and cried. Joanne was totally shocked and she mentioned to the media that she feel that this year category is quite hard to determined who was the winner as all of the other four are strong contenders.

Not forgetting the “Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes” – Joanne was also nominated in for Top 10 and she did us proud by having won an award in that category. In her thank you speach, she mentioned “Jollity Fanclub, i know that all of you are disappointed of the results for Show 1 but i really really hope that this coming week , all of you will feel happy for me.”

A Tale of 2 Cities actress Joanne Peh was in a daze when she went on stage to give her thank you speech and receive her Best Actress award, her second win in the industry after Little Nyonya in 2009.

Still in shock at her backstage interview with the media, the astonished one spoke of her second best actress win last night and said, “My mind was in a blank and I didn’t thank the people I wanted to thank. I’m still feeling very emotional and I didn’t expect this.”

“I thought Ah Jie (Zoe Tay) will win because her role in Devotion gave her a lot of room for character development!” she added.

She felt that her role as the haughty model Pan Leyao was “popular amongst viewers” ‘cos of her realistic character which was easy to relate to.

Hoping to present different sides of herself through her roles in future, the actress sought for more understanding and support from TV viewers and explained, “Viewers these days are very critical of an actress’ acting and this might affect a person’s morale because everyone puts in a lot of effort for every role they take on. It’s a risk when we act because we don’t know how people will react to this role.

“I will try to improve the best I can and I will do the best I can with no regrets.”

12 JOlliteers attended Star Awards Show 1 on 22 April at Mediacorp Theatre. Some of the JOlliteers were queuing up as early as 7am. Everyone started to come in and we queued up together. Whilst waiting, JOlliteers also took turns to vote for Joanne in the Systema Charming Smile award which will be presented that evening.

All the JOlliteers were very excited and got ready to enter the Theatre. Before the show started and in between segments, voting was still going on. We wanted to enter as many as possible and we continued voting till 8.30pm when the Session closed before votes are tabulated.

In between, we shouted loudly for Joanne to let her know that we are there to support her. Joanne turned to the back and waved to us too. There were skits presented and from where we were sitting, we could see Joanne laughing till tears rolled down when her role in “A song to remember” was re-enacted with hilarious results.

All Fans were waiting anxiously for the Results to be announced. Elvin Ng turned out to be the ultimate winner in the Systema award. But to us, Joanne will forever have the brightest smile that can knock anyone out.

The show finally came to an end but before we departed, all of us shouted “TingKai & QiuXue , Wo Men Ai Ni” . Pierre and Joanne responded to us and gave us a final wave before leaving the stage.

sorry, this write-up came in a little late.

JOlliteers and Joanne had an advance celebration on 14th April 2012, held at CHIJmes Hog’s Breath Cafe

The committee arrived early to decorate the place. At 2.30pm , all JOlliteers arrived and we waited patiently for Joanne to arrive. The Gathering began at 3.15pm. To kick off the programme, we started with a welcome speech by JOllity Chairperson, Rina followed by Joanne. An introduction was made by the committee and the 2 newly joined committee to the members.

We started with the Fans introducing themselves to Joanne as well as to the rest of the members for them know each other better. Besides introducing themselves, they were asked to explain by the committee “Why do you like or support Joanne?”. Some fans were so nervous that Karen had to say that Joanne will not bite and Joanne promptly growled at them. That made all of them laugh and relax.

We started by presenting the Membership card and also the FC Shirt to the members , followed by the top fc points scorer to the Platinum and also the Classic Member for Year 2011. Joanne made a joke by coming out with the “Ting Ting” smile as it was earlier commented about her being in the running for Systema Award.

The Committee member represented the whole FC by presenting the Birthday Scrapbook to Joanne and fans who had prepared presents gave it to her. The big surprise for Joanne came when Karen whipped out a Limited Edition “Punk Hard Rock Barbie” which Rina, Elaine and Karen specially ordered from USA for her. According to Joanne, there is only 25,000 in the whole world and this is a rare find.

Joanne had also prepared a gift for the “Best Dressed Award” which she will select at the end of the event.

After filling their stomach with finger food specially prepared for them, its time for cake cutting. After the cakes were finished, all fans had a photo opportunity with Joanne. A group photo was also taken.

Before she took her leave, she thanked all the JOlliteers who came to the gathering and also she had presented the “Best Dressed Award” to the winning member.

Hi all

On 31st March, 11 JOlliteers gathered at Marina Square Atrium for Captiv8 with Cannon’s event where Joanne made an appearance. She was one of the 5 panel judges invited to judge the models. She was asked to give a talk on what and how to pick and match clothings and how to present oneself in terms of walking, posing and presenting oneself. She was there for about 45 mins before she had to make a move. JOlliteers were also able to get a group photo taken with our princess.
